Z gauge

The original club Z gauge layout was built in the memory of Bill College, a long time member of the club who had a real passion for Z gauge modelling.

He left his collection to the club and the layout was built in his honour. Affectionately known as the “coffin” (due to the unique shape of its protective shell) it was a regular, if inconsistent performer at many exhibitions until its retirement in the mid-2000’s.

We have ambitions to build a replacement, however failing eyesight on the part of most of the current membership makes this unlikely – if there are any keen Z gauge modellers out there – we would be keen for you to join us!
